Hi all

I was just wondering if anyone has experienced failing a computer POST once or twice before (sometimes 2 beeps sometimes 4 or 5) but by resetting the computer several times can get it to work normally (with the normal 1 beep). :s11:

My BIOS is AMI
Gigabyte: H97M-D3H
I5 4460 Haswell
Gainward Nvidia 970 GTX

Any help is appreciated thank you.

Hi,

You might want to state how long/short the beep is and how many times. We try the simplest method. You might want to resit your RAM. Power off your PC entirely then take out the memory module and clean the golden teeth with an eraser. See if it helps.

The beeps are relatively quick, for either of them. I tried this morning taking the memory out and reputing in another slot on MB but hasn't really changed anything. The only thing is i didn't try cleaning the golden teeth properly (I just blew air at it lol).

Its just concerning because Ive only had this computer for less than 9 months, although the problem has been going on since i bought it (i was lazy and just reset it 2-3 times before its normal).

If you have multiple of RAM, you might want to try a single piece first. Also if possible, try to boot your system with bare minimum hardware, like removing graphic card, sound card and Wifi card.

Slowly place one item in at a time and see if it boots. Continue doing till it hit the error and there, you know what is causing it. Then do further diagnosing on the affected hardware.

If you are able to identify how many beeps, it would be helpful.
