I feel like taking up a degree course in game design and programming but scare very hard to get jobs or long work hours and low pay ( <$2k)
Many people are negative about the job prospect and their salary.
Reason I want to take up this course is because playing video games has always been my hobby. I feel that if I can get a job that is very much related to it then most probably I would be very interested to do, motivated and excel. Then again, like to play game doesn't mean would like to design it. Even if you like to design you also must be very good at it.
I'm bad at drawings but got good imagination, can think of story lines, able to analyze what kind of game is addictive, what game play is fun, and what games is usually popular among the different age group, gender and people.
I have a L4D2 game server which I modified by using mods created by other people to enhance the gameplay in a way I feel will be more fun.
Among all the L4D2 server around the world mine is in the top 15:
L4D2 Singapore 10VS10: Left 4 Dead 2 Server List | Search Left4dead2 Stats, Rankings, and Banners - Game Tracker
If can, would prefer to take up a course that is more programming and lesser drawings.
Anybody here from the gaming course willing to share some insights?
