Hi Guys,

I was using my computer and it suddenly short circuit. I heard a spark sound and the whole computer died. When i tried to turn on again, there are no lights on my motherboard and no fan is running. I am thinking that the power supply died. Could it be the possible reason? What are some of other factors that cause short circuit?

My specs are as follows,

Asus Maximus VI extreme motherboard
Vento Asus power supply
Nvidia 560 GTX twin frost 2gb
G-skills Jaw Rip 8GB ram

The casing is super rusty so i think one of the metals, screws might be the reason for the short circuit.

Any comments, advise will be appreciated. Thanks.

Maybe a simple case of failing PSU gone up lorry.
Disconnect mains and open up side panel to see if any burnt mark PSU connectors.
