Just thought to share my recent experience sending my wife to deliver and do her confinement in Muar, Malaysia. We are both PR (non Malaysian) but wife has a relative in Muar, Johor that recommended Warmshine confinement centre there.
After checking out the cost of confinement centre in SG (we don't like the idea of a midwife), we thought to take the plunge and chose Malaysia to give birth and do confinement. We are familiar with Malaysia from previous travelling and the idea of an extended year-end staycation seemed not bad to us.
Delivering at a private hospital and doing confinement all in cost us about $4k + $3.5k. The food and the baby care team at the confinement centre were excellent. Anyone wanting to check it out can PM me for a referral for a booking discount. Hurry up, tiagong dragon year will have lots of dragon babies!
