Hey guys;

I'm currently still serving NS, ORDing in June.Wanted to further my studies n local UNI is definitely not a option with my GPA,2.89. So was looking at SIM GE degree courses specifically the courses by university of Birmingham.

But I'm confused between the business management w/w'out industrial placement and international business.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Industrial Attachment is like internship.. International business teaches different modules from the business management. You can search their website on the various modules.

Agree with patryn33, you need to ask yourself what you want to do first.

After that, then if you are sure that you can't get into a local uni, then look out for those Uni whose curriculum best fit your needs. Also, you might want to check out the quality of the University as well as its local institution representing it.

Is there a difference between degree from university of Birmingham and degree from SIM's Birmingham degree?

The world ranking of university of Birmingham is better than NTU. Yet those could not get into NTU able to go SIM and get university of Birmingham degree? Isn't it strange?

On-campus degree is vastly different from distance learning degree.

Hi newbToTech,

Probably you might not be aware what University of Birmingham at SIM is all about. Just sharing it with you. University of Birmingham at SIM is fully taught by lecturer from UK itself and no local lecturer from SIM. As such, a minimum GPA of 3.0 is required to enter the course. However if you are on a border line case you will require an interview for conditional admission. I believe the application is closing soon.

If you are a business-related diploma holder you will start school in July. But if you are non-business related diploma you need to attend a prep class in Apr which means you have missed 2014 intake.

As for your question on the different program. In my opinion I don't think it worth your money to pay more for an internship you can always source for yourself. As for International business, it is similar to business management just that you have to go to Birmingham in UK for 2 or 3 culture modules over there. (Very costly, something you might wana take into consideration)
