I have a android phone with data plan and just bought a samsung tab with LTE without any contract. I don't wanna sign 1 more data plan just for the tab if not I'll be paying for both bill monthly. Is there any way to connect my phone data, contacts, whatsapp and other things to my tab?

Portable Wi-Fi hotspot? That's what I normally use, hardly thought of using the BT tethering.
Is there any difference, by the way, like battery consumption or connectivity?
