Been seeing quite a fair bit of advert on FB for this robo advisor. Is this good?

If it invests only in ETFs like Stashaway, you might as well invest in the ETFs direct yourself.

Hi JuniorLion,

Just thought we might jump in to share more on how StashAway value-adds to your investment experience.

We do not simply invest in the ETFs for you- we build for you a customized portfolio of USD-denominated ETFs based on your specific goals, risk level and financial information.

One of our strengths is our conservative, yet agile approach to investment. We deploy a sophisticated and dynamic investment strategy that mitigates risk, and withstands market fluctuations and economic cycle changes. Our algorithms monitor your portfolios daily, and rebalance them regularly to precisely manage your portfolio's risk level. Our trading system constantly monitors prices and economic indicators, and updates your portfolio allocation or re-optimizes it, helping you to navigate through changing economic cycles. Re-balancing and re-optimization, when done by yourself are transaction costs you will have to bear. At StashAway, these are included in our platform fee.

StashAway is also one of the few wealth platforms in the world to incorporate fractional shares into its portfolio management strategy. We justify the complexity and cost of implementing fractional shares in our strategy with the fact that fractional shares offer the flexibility, precision, diversification, and efficiency that ultimately enable us to introduce a game-changing investment strategy to every customer, irrespective of their wealth.

These are some of the additional costs you may have to take on with investing on your own. If you'd like to read more, you can read this article written by our CEO, Michele on Investing In ETFs: Do-It-Yourself Or Use A Robo-Advisor? Link:dollarsandsense.sg/investing-etfs-use-robo-advisor/

An investor deploying $1,000/month in 8 ETFs and paying a minimum trading fee of $10/trade will pay $80/month, or 8%, upfront in brokerage trading fees monthly.

Who the hell in this world would buy 8 ETFs?!

No wonder you made Stashaway sound nicer.

Bottom line is, can your Stashaway beat say, a pure S&P500 investing over 30 years? Net of fees.

Oh, I mean I don't think Stashaway is 30 years old, so whatever you say is actually not proven. What you are asking is for people to give it a try..
