Is the following sequential scenario possible?

1) PC random shutdown/restart (Blank screen/no display/Fan full throttle) when using the GPU.

2) Remove GPU and use the onboard GPU. No problems.

3) Reinstall GPU back and problem reoccur again.

Question:
Which of the following scenario is more logical:
- GPU dead (Overheated? or other problems)
- PSU dead (Failure to produce the stated amount of power to support the installed GPU? But produce enough power to support the system without the GPU.)

It's probably the GPU. If you have a spare graphics card (preferably with the same power requirements) and test the system with the spare, and the same symptoms with the last GPU occur again though, it's the PSU.

Usually if its PSU problem, your system should not be able to start up at all. Sounds like an isolated GPU problem since your PC works fine with onboard GPU.

TS, list down both the brand/model of your PSU/GPU.

Might also be PSU problem, the PSU not enough juice to power with GPU. Yet can run on-board.

Your safety best is to borrow another similar spec GPU to try.
