Considering a small upgrade...

So I got my desktop about half a year ago but I'm already having fps issues in some games, CPU's heating up to 88+- celsius whenever I play games, so I'm thinking about getting a small upgrade about in a few months. Any recommendations?

Case: Techware Nexus
PSU: Coolermaster V650 Gold
CPU: Ryzen 5 3600
RAM: Crucial 8GB DDR4-2666 DIMM RAM MODEL NO. CT8G4DFS8266
Motherboard: Askrock B450 Pro 4
GPU: Geforce RTX 2060 SUPER
HDD: Toshiba 2TB
SSD: Lexar 256GB

I'm definitely looking to upgrade from my default case fans to something else. Same for my stock cooler too. But I don't really know whats good. Any recommendations on that too?

3 things to fix:

1. Get a 212 CPU cooler. Cheap and good.
2. Make sure you have 2x8GB RAM sticks for dual channel. Get 3200 CL16.
3. Consider getting 2x120mm fans for the top

Ur PC is fine, is just 2 mistake

1. Amd at least need a 212evo cooler if u game

2. Lexar nvme can get overheat if u didn't have heatsink attach, I would rather use a normal ssd to game. Speed is same

if got budget then change casing, add cpu cooler, make sure the casing ish spacious, got nice airflow

Consider filling the optional fan slots in your future casing with fans as well.

Go for Crucial, Corsair or G.Skill. 3600 CL16 is good, as then the in-chip IF will run at 1800

If i were u i'd get a 1TB SSD for Games and OS, CPU Cooler and 2*8GB 3200Mhz Ram.

With that you could get a whole new system.

The cooler is about 60-70. RAM is about 130-160. Cheaper if no RGB. 2 case fans are about 30

Cooler Master Hyper 212 or Deepcool Gammaxx GTE will drop your CPU temps by at least 10 degrees(based on the many youtube videos you can find).

These 2 air coolers cost less than $40 and Lazada having sale 12-15 Mar, which means you can get them cheaper still. You can even get CM Masterliquid 120 for less than $60. It will do the job also.

After that you can really plan your upgrade. Take note also, Ryzen 4000 series launching prolly 3rd quarter? Might wanna wait for that to upgrade.

Noctua is overkill for your chip and costs a lot. Get a 212

I would recommend Noctua as well given your budget, go for the NH-U12A. Coolers and Fans are a good long-term investment as they can be used for your future rigs. They also keep your component cool and healthy at the same time.

NH-U12A got full ram clearance, as the heatsink is shifted towards the left. It's also the best performer for coolers of that size.

I agree. Hyper 212 will be good enough. If you really want something that cools well, just choose a Hyper 212 with 2 fans (push and pull).

I won't say its that bad. It is not meant for any overclocking for sure and should keep up with a 65W TDP chip. By default, tower coolers tend to perform better at cooling the CPU as compared to those downward blowing coolers. However the latter is better at cooling the components on the mobo, around the CPU.
