https://www.straitstimes.com/singap...ce-for-riding-in-groups-larger-than-permitted

Mr Lawrence Choo, 45, founding member of cycling enthusiast groups 10101010 and Faber X, suggested that the guideline for motorists to adhere to a minimum distance of 1.5m when passing cyclists on roads be passed into law, so that it can be enforced like the group cycling rules.

He added that drivers should learn that cyclists also have a right to be on the roads.

Mr Kiki Matthias Cheng, founder of cycling enthusiast group Riding Kakis (Singapore), said it may be more effective to influence cyclists to become role models who “walk the ground” and advocate safer cycling practices within their cycling groups.

The 52-year-old operations director added that this could help “activate” the cycling community in spreading good cycling practices, compared with a top-down approach through law enforcement.

Mr Khaw and Mr Ng both suggested building more dedicated cycling infrastructure, such as cycling lanes that allow road users to give cyclists the right of way.

:s14:
Strongly agree!

Government should give everyone a bicycle as well

Should build extra roads for cyclists only

Should give presidential escort.

each time a cyclist ride should have helicopter and traffic police escort

1.5 m berth not enough.

what if swerve and hit the cyclist?

should give 15m berth, even if freak accident with rogue car from opposite direction then the cyclist can also siam

I think the gallows will deter potential offending cyclists, just look at our drug trafficking law.

Speeding car drivers also need the gallows to be fair. Cyclists don’t cause much damage if they crash into metal boxes.

In Europe, Taiwan, and Japan, they built cycling lane on the road too. If they can, we can too. Please help to advocate this
Bro, not enough is done for cyclists.

we should ask government give tax subsidy and give free rental rebates to bike companies.

we should get government to design cycling lanes with artistic design on the lane.

Everywhere should have cycling lanes, especially inside malls, schools, tourist destination and community center

all housing must have a cycling accessory and bicycle storage room
