2016 got PMD accident on West Coast Highway, just after the downslope towards Clementi dir, 2 killed 1 seriously injured

Another issue is that the truck usually wants to filter left. Either to "get back into the left lane" or to exit the viaduct. Can see the truck signalling left at the end of the video.

The 3 friends on the left lane matching the speed of the truck means total blocking.
Other cyclists (eg road bikes) would usually be of a different speed, so at least there is a chance for traffic to filter. Have seen some giving hand signals so at least there is some form of communication.

Problem is that these fellas do not have any driving licence and more importantly road experience / road sense. (sometimes, just having a paper licence does not mean much if the road user has not driven much on the road, eg another good eg is Getgo and the likes)
So all bets are off and it totally depends on how safely and patient the truck drivers are driving.

The best helmets will not protect them from the danger of tailgating a trailer truck.

Even cars that tailgate are a danger to themselves.
