Yes agree. Everybody keeping to their own paths would be best. There are also cyclists and PMD riders who injure pedestrians too (maybe also got fatalities), so there will always be two sides of the coins to it.

I belong to the camp that advocates preemptive strikes. Come too near me as to potentially injure me and I will react first

well often my wife who walks infront of me ( to protect her from getting knock from behind) will turn and look at at me when we encounter these kind of pest, " you better not be thinking of clothesline from hell that fellow, i don't want to explain to the kids why their old man is in the police station"

but we just carry on with our day, no point screwing it up just for a moment of pleasure ( APA Style)
