The fine is too little or none. LTA doesn't want to spend too much manpower enforcement.

Not true. E.g. bicycles do not need to signal to turn, because they don't have the signal lights.
One look can tell you don't cycle. We will use hand signal.

Step 1: Look behind, check clear
Step 2: Give hand signal
Step 3: Look behind, check clear
Step 4: Filter lane/turn left.

If step 3 didn't clear, repeat until the road is safe to proceed.

ban the car. he should slow down. this section is like that. no traffic lights, no crossing. driver should slow down. nb. u all know or not? bai chi
You got see that the girl came out after the car already turned left and the hit occurred at the back end of the car? It means that it was clear signal to turn.
This has nothing to do with slowing down.

If the girl was hit at the front part, then it's really the driver's fault.
I can tell maybe your spandex restricted the blood flow to your logical thinking.
Or simply the fact that you didn't have the knowledge of basic theory test on how the traffic rules applies for Singapore.

I rarely see hand signals from cyclists.

They like to make right angle turns from pedestrian walkway and cycle into zebra crossing.

This forces the vehicles to jam brake.

Read carefully what I wrote.

Video showed 2 things.
1) poor parenting issue
2) driver got to bear damages created by the bicycle failing to stop in time and knocking onto it.

Purpose of this thread is to discuss liability issue that involves 2 parties that is totally unrelated.

Not poor parenting issue which involved only the family.

Only in Singapore we have motorists hitting vulnerable road users and turn around saying “is it fair to us?”

please send drivers, especially phv and taxi drivers on yearly compulsory driving tests. COEs should be free up for better drivers

You didn’t watch the video did you? The cyclist hit the car in this one.
