so solution would be to create dedicated lanes for cyclists, requiring cyclists to register, pay a road tax, and obtain insurance to help manage the impact on traffic and ensuring safety, otherwise, cyclists often break traffic rules at their convenience, only adhering to them when it suits their needs, no?

On pnc, cyclists ring and high beam joggers because they think joggers are path hogging. Being faster, cyclists think they have right of way.

On road, cyclists continue their entitled view. This time, they demand cars give way since cyclists are more vulnerable.

Let me educate you since you don't sound like a local (probably have only stayed in sg a short while).

When stopped at traffic light, the queue can get too long and block the cats turning left. So we have to go forward to fill the gap so that we don't cause blockage. This is to shorten the line, imagine if bicycles all form up one line because law says we can't side by side in group of 10.

If there's a large group even worst. A clump of cyclist edging to the front is just creating chaos and waiting for trouble to happen.

Lawrence Wong should do the hard way.. just ban all these PMA, PMD and PAB outright.. For handicapped, just stick to the battery operated wheelchair.

then go for buses. Let SBST, SMRT, TT and Go Ahead operate more short trips..

having more short trip bus services means ppl will think less to own cars..

10 years ago talk about being carlite, yet the infra and law does not support all these. As a result, they just get more and more. You see Punggol and Tampines alone.. the amount of PMA, PMD and PAB are so many.

It's not going to work. If it won't convince the elites to do that, it's not gonna work for the rest of the population. The point of a car is to retain absolute control over when you have it, esp when you need/want it. Not about if it's going to be green or whatever nonsense the Govt is trying to push, that's for the peasants to follow and do.

Now obviously if the head is not leading naturally the body won't follow, and ppl not blind also. Until ur ministers start taking bus regularly like normal ppl, cars will always be the prized target to hit and ppl who can afford it will cont to buy.

Carlite culture dun work here becuz as a ppl, we simply cannot stand it when unfairness is perceived. That's the Singaporean culture here, we rather 20 ppl die with us then to see 1 baby saved. It's in everything we do to a certain deg. Carlite promote sharing of resources (bus, road) in a harmonious way. Today we get as close as to almost touching a lady due to space constraint, the % of guys getting reported for ''harassment'' is close to 50% already via social media policing.

And many studies have shown that lifeforms including humans, dun work well with one another if and when space constraint become socially uncomfortable.

yesterday when I'm jogging, the cyclist ring me to move one side. I move to let him pass since he faster than me. on the road we driver honk them or drive close to them, they will road rage and wanna damage our cars or wanna fight with us, if not is beat red light and cycle like they own the road. I feel they all are too much. what do they want.

On roads, cyclists are supposed to stop at red lights and at zebra crossings when pedestrians cross. When entering a main road from a side road, they must give way to traffic on the main road. But too many of them fail to adhere to even these basic rules. On shared paths, cyclists should give way to pedestrians.

There are too many cyclists in Singapore who are self-entitled pricks. They treat public roads as their playgrounds.

Am curious,they want to be fast or ride y dun ride on roads..Wear the fancy like pro mens or ladies tights ,still want squeeze on p. pavement..n it doesn't takes a idiot to know not that all will gv way to them

All this hate for cyclists. Why? Because they dun behave well on roads? Yet drivers are just as bad often worse. Dun hate so much and live a little longer.

Because Ignorant driver/bikers affect road users; Ignorant pedestrians affect other pedestrians.

But Ignorant cyclist/PMA users affect both drivers and pedestrians. Why? Because cyclists can (looks like) make use of both pathways. For sure they get fired from both sides.
