Xiao - She tried to portray a calm image and she is somewhat eloquent without having to rely too much on her script. She can answer some questions but ZSK was too much for her to handle. I think DPP is in too much lead before this and this debate won't affect DPP in any way

ZSK - best performer tonight but won't be able to chip into DPP's lead. He speaks his thoughts like a shinkansen (Xiao is like MRT) but most Taiwanese probably won't watch this debate. He has offered his solutions on the China issue but most Taiwanese won't give a hoot due to DPP red tinting of KMT

Lai will be president on 13 Jan and I hope he declares independence. Make 13 Jan the National Day of Taiwan

he s 外省人heritage afterall.... not easy to ask him to talk like a local tw, usually only those who are in entertainment are able to do that people like 郭子乾 沈玉琳. wu dong is another one who got the local tw vibe when he is 外省人 heritage but this is rare especially in politics

what is important is that he respects and is willing to learn about local tw culture and language .... his hokkien is definitely okay for a waishengren. i know of some waishengren who actually look down on locals as inferior and refuse to have anything to do withh them.

in defence of princess most of the questions she asked were quite good. the last few questions and conclusion she also handled okay given her language limitations.

The thing I am most surprised was WXY reminding voters not to 弃保 them, meaning in her party's mind, they are 3rd and subconsciously (or knowingly, via their own party polls) they know they are lagging both DPP and KMT. I'm surprised because she shouldn't have said that in the debate as this gave viewers a stronger impression that her party is lagging. More people will 弃保 because of that. Voters aren't stupid. This is a big tactical blunder by her
