Actually that’s what a conscription and draft is for. Like Russia and US, in times of war they forcibly conscript men to fight. When Japan attack China, all the peasants also pick up weapons to defend. It’s in all the Chinese war movies.

In Ukraine case it’s just too late but like the Taliban did successfully, anyone with a gun is one extra defender.

No matter which side you are on, gotta respect people who fight for their country. They could have been like Afghan army even trained and well equipped also lay down arms and runaway.

They started all the prep very early.. including women conscripts , so I also curious what happen to all their troops when the war starts

I did not dispute the 30% rating. In fact I really think that the 30% rating was taken as evidence that the people would welcome the Russians as liberators. Probably Putin's advisors sold this to him.

the 250k professional army for what one?
Civillians pay tax fund these 250k to fight.
NATO give these 250k free weapons n supplies.
Now Russia invade....day 1 they stop civillians from leaving danger area.....send them to get killed and take photo op.

makes u wonder what that 250k army is(was) good for.

Stopping men from leaving don't meant all of them are going to be given a weapon.

As for stopping civilians from leaving, perhaps? But 10% of Ukranians had crossed the border and it's a big country. Not as if people can move from east to west that quickly. We are talking about 44m people.
