with the jerry mandarin, incumbent will probably at least retain their seats from previous elections. Even if the total vote counts in their favour drop. And that is in the worst case scenario for them. Might even turn out better. Don't have too much hope to those who are dreaming.
Yeah as long as they got Mr jerry mandarin on their side, can never lose one.

PAP team in Holland-Bukit Timah GRC on house visits

The PAP team contesting Holland-Bukit Timah GRC has been conducting house visits in the last few days.

The slate led by Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, and comprising Senior Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and National Development Sim Ann, Mr Christopher de Souza and Mr Edward Chia, is up against candidates from Red Dot United.

Dr Balakrishnan on Monday posted a Facebook video of himself chatting and mingling with residents.

Similarly, Ms Sim and Mr de Souza also shared videos on Facebook documenting their house visits, and thanked residents for the encouragement and support.

Meanwhile, Mr Chia shared photos of the upcoming Active Ageing Centre by New Life Community Services at Block 525 Jelapang Road. He said the centre, which opens on May 11 officially, is “shaping up beautifully”.

“This has been a labour of love, and reflects our deep commitment to ensuring that our seniors continue to thrive and enjoy their golden years. We believe that active, engaged seniors also mean fewer concerns for their caregivers – bringing peace of mind to many families,” Mr Chia said.

You ownself see chatgpt, summarize all the parties housing policies. PAP don't even have a proper plan/roadmap. Really 0 confidence from them to solve the issue.

Here is a comprehensive summary of the housing policies proposed by various political parties in Singapore's 2025 General Election (GE2025):

People's Action Party (PAP)

Workers’ Party (WP)

  • Affordability Measures: Proposes pegging HDB Build-To-Order (BTO) prices in non-mature estates to household incomes, offering discounts to lower-income applicants to achieve manageable debt service ratios.
  • Transparency: Advocates for HDB to provide detailed breakdowns of land sale costs, developmental costs, and subsidies to buyers.
  • Lease Decay Solutions: Suggests a universal buy-back scheme for HDB lessees and expanding the Selective En Bloc Redevelopment Scheme (SERS) without requiring a proxy relocation site.
  • Inclusivity: Recommends lowering the minimum age for singles to apply for 2-room BTO flats from 35 to 28 and removing ethnic quotas for HDB resales. (What Is Each Singaporean Party Promising You This Election? - Kopi, Where Does Each Political Party Stand On Bread-And-Butter Issues?)

Singapore Democratic Party (SDP)

Progress Singapore Party (PSP)

Red Dot United (RDU)

Singapore People’s Party (SPP)

National Solidarity Party (NSP)

Reform Party

People’s Power Party (PPP)

This summary encapsulates the diverse housing policy proposals presented by Singapore's political parties in GE2025, reflecting a range of approaches to affordability, inclusivity, transparency, and redevelopment.

Watch: How did RDU go from a one-GRC outing in 2020 to fielding 15 candidates in 4 constituencies this GE?

We are past the halfway mark of the general election. In today’s episode of The Usual Place, podcast host Natasha Ann Zachariah speaks to Red Dot United’s (RDU) candidates for Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC, Ms Liyana Dhamirah and Mr Marcus Neo, as well as Jurong Central SMC candidate Kala Manickam.

Today, they’ll discuss how RDU has changed since its inception five years ago.

Their appearance is part of ST’s special daily GE2025 show, where candidates from different parties talk about their campaign strategies and key issues.

Catch this half-hour live stream at noon every day till May 1, which is a day before Cooling-off Day; and on polling night.

Why leh ? I think with the GST increase, retirement of many PAP stalwarts and lower confidence in the new 4G leadership, they may not get as strong a mandate this time round. Don’t get me wrong, I am realistic, PAP confirm win but i feel it will be more like 2011 kind of win, especially if the opposition are credible and don’t chut all the K-word, look left look right pattern.

Yio Chu Kang SMC residents raise concerns with PAP’s Yip Hon Weng

During a walkabout at Ang Mo Kio 628 Market and Hawker Centre this morning, PAP candidate for Yio Chu Kang SMC, Mr Yip Hon Weng, was greeted by residents.

Among them was Madam Lim, 50, who runs the Hua Fatt Coffee & Toast Stall. She said several ceiling fans in the hawker centre have been malfunctioning in the past month. Mr Yip, who is seeking re-election in the SMC, took photos of the faulty fans and assured her that he will raise the issue with the town council.

Another resident handed Mr Yip a hand-drawn map, pointing out areas in the neighbourhood where he hoped covered walkways could be built.

Mr Yip also visited several housing blocks around Ang Mo Kio avenues 4 and 5.

One of the residents he visits regularly is Ms Cindy Tay, 55, who has been living with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, a motor neuron disease, since 2019. Using a communication device on her iPad, Ms Tay wrote that “she is rooting for Mr Yip”.

“He helped me apply for financial assistance and invited me to the Chinese New Year celebration. Even when I can’t be present, he will ask his volunteers to send me gifts,” she said.

Mr Yip is contesting against People’s Alliance for Reform’s Mr Michael Fang.
