In SGP parliament history only the late LKY and J B Jeya able to talk off hand instead of reading script prepared by scholars.

Dr Chee is another one who can do that and even LKY having problems of debating him.

The MIW thus tried all the means and machinery to stop him from going into parliament with the help of our 154, printing him as ugly as possible.

Hope Sebanwang voters can wake up and vote him into parliament and let’s those jlb ppl “讲你唔听听 你又唔做做又做错…………” is what.
Bro, i agree with you fully on this.

sweet election talks...but really interesting to see what he can do in parliament, rather than just another typical PAP MP sitting idling in one corner.
Go in also can't do anything if his party is not the ruling party.

Additional, they are not given seats in the ministries, limited power.

Why not give him a seat inside leh. Many just like to jjww his talk, but when come to real action that give him the vote put him inside to talk, many chicken out.

Think his way is perhaps a reason why they sort of discredit his reputation of sort and keep him outside. And continue to do so via the social conditioning of sort of many who often bring those past up.

Think all these while his seems rather consistent, determined in his cause. He may be a breath of fresh air inside if he does manage to get in.

Cause seems like he is the determined kind that will not take the take it or leave it reply that incumbent seems like to give when hard pressed for answers. Would be very interesting if he get in and came up to such craps.

What weed you smoking?

Singapore has indeed experienced inflation over the past 60 years, with the inflation rate fluctuating between -1.8% and 22.4%.¹ The average annual inflation rate from 1961 to 2024 was 2.6%, resulting in a cumulative price increase of 382.27%.

To break it down further, here are some key periods of inflation in Singapore:

- *1970s:* High and volatile inflation due to global oil crises, with headline inflation reaching as high as 30% in 1974.²
- *1980s-1990s:* More stable inflation, with average annual rates ranging from 1.5% to 3.5%.
Just curious, somewhat noob, when they say inflation rate or increase, its an increase from the previous rate right, as in compound?

I find it hard to believe ..

more singaporeans can travel overseas . last time few get to travel overseas.

it means singaporeans are more affluent and have more money period. doesn't matter what other things cost , because nett nett , they still have money to travel..travel is not a necessity.

even EDMWers supposedly poor as pauper , they still go overseas to have fun.
fun again is not a necessity.

so if one chooses to choose luxuries above necessities than it is a upbringing problem. want to be big head ego problem.

https://www.asiaone.com/singapore/t...kayu-smc-intensifies-he-visits-fernvale-homes

Will he contest?

Jackie Wong, a resident of High Park Residences condominium, told AsiaOne that he wasn't aware of Ng's visit to the area.

Wong, an IT officer, did feel that it was likely Ng was trying to contest for the seat, but he wasn't looking forward to it.

"I don't like the People's Action Party (PAP)," the 51-year-old said bluntly, adding that he would vote for the opposition as long as he can.

He hopes that the opposition will be able to address bread-and-butter issues such as cost of living and inflation.

But another resident, Johnson Tong, said that although he didn't know about Ng's house visits because he was overseas, he feels that would be a sign that he might be trying to contest for the seat.

"He contested Sengkang GRC, so I think he should be quite familiar with this area… I think it would be good for him to contest for the Jalan Kayu SMC," the 36-year-old senior account manager said.

He said that the opposition has a fighting chance, saying that are more younger people in the area
