Continued clarification

In that case, I'd like to further raise the following questions.

Can you please provide more information about what topics are "not welcome" and "distasteful"?

I have come across *many* questionable threads which are much more explicit and low brow and they have not received any retribution as far as I'm aware of. What is and isn't allowed seems to be subjective and depending on the mod and the person. More clarity on this would be welcome.

I have reported many posts and threads myself and barely 20% show as resolved, a puzzling figure given that any rational being would consider that content much more questionable and against actual laws, unlike a rhetorical harmless thread.

It is practically impossible to list down every single possible discussion topic that is deem acceptable or unacceptable. You are correct in that Moderator actions are at the discretion of the Moderator himself/herself and can be subjective.

However they are at the privy of other Moderators in the team and their respective Senior Moderators. On top of that, we also have Administrators providing guidance and overview where necessary. When it comes to Reports, we receive enormous amount of Reports daily and they are looked at collectively by the Moderator team. It is a team effort, so if none of the Moderators feel that a Report is valid or require any action, it is very likely frivolous. We do receive a lot of such invalid Reports, there is plenty of chaff in the wheat here.

Everyone works together to ensure that it is a fair and impartial platform, as much as possible.
