Just got myself a Kobo Touch since my wife and kids are fighting with me for my Nook Simple Touch.

The Kobo form factor looks nicer than the Nook.
E ink screen about the same.

But The nook beats the Kobo hands down in terms of speed and response.

If you load many books in the Kobo, the time it takes to navigate thru the library is unbearable, both when storing on the main memory or SD card.

Nook is super fast in that aspect.

The Kobo is suppose to be able to take up to 32gb of SD card but even a 2gb card is also too slow for it to handle.

Seems like the only solution is just to load a few books at a time.

The only advantage I can see at the moment is, you can load extra fonts easily to read Chinese, Jap books etc.

For Nook, need to go thru calibre or some complicated steps to add fonts.

Have you tried kindle paperwhite? Book browsing is reasonably quick. :)

Nope.
Not going to touch kindle at all.
Never a fan of mobi format anyway.

Book turning is fine for both Kobo and Nook.
