corsair hydro h110 questions

Do you set them up as intake or exhaust iif mounted on top of casing e.g on a corsair 750d ?

Do you connect your hydro fans to the mobo fan cpu 3 pin through dual splitter or molex ?

If you mount it on top of casing (on exhaust) corsair 750d do you keep the filter on?

Radiator fan in between radiator & casing, pulling hot air out of the 750D.
Water pump is connected to CPUFAN2 (mobo 4pin) & hydro fans connected to CPUFAN1 (mobo 4pin)

I setup the fans as intake yesterday, today i've changed it to exhaust. I also changed the fans to Noctuas (yeah, i no longer suffer the loud noisy fan of the default unit).. but, I"m not sure if i was drunk or what yesterday i think my idle temps were at 22-24C... (my AC is 19c). today after the change my idle temps are 28C give or take... .....


what are you idle temps like ?

Yes.. Exhaust.. How come yr temp so cool? Mine is like fluctuating 36-40degrees idle..but no Air con though..

Don't know. Room cool I guess as it's always on air con. Last night I had ac at 20 low power. Idle was 27-31 across 4 cores. If I intel burn test it the temps went to ave 75.

Btw since u use exhaust like me do you then keep the corsair top case filter in place or ?

Not advisable to have filter on rads. Especially if it's on exhaust.

The whole reason y I changed the fans to exhaust is to avoid pulling in dust. Think I'll leave it as is.

I have the Swiftech H100 and the 750D; same setup except I have it as intake and the dust cover is on. My presumption is that cooler air is pulled to cool the radiator.

Any real world difference/benefit between intake and exhaust?

Intake is supposedly better as it's taking in cool air from outside your case, that being said it's harder to clean off the dust though.

There are YouTube videos that discuss the advantages of the different configurations.. Linus tech tips did mentioned that as intake, the dust buildup would be easier to clean without taking down the entire rad

Some opinion read that intake is supposedly to be better since cooler air from outside is used to cool the radiator. On the other hand, warmer air within the case is used to cool the setup, which may not be that effective, in a exhaust setup.

To mitigate the dust build-up, I still have the dust cover on top of the 750D.

i try to prevent as much dust as possible, so only my front fan is intake, in addition of the default filter, i add magic clean wipe on top of the filter as additional layer to filter out dust

Seems like u r doing a negative airflow... nt good...

Your airflow is restrictive.
