Current age 65 CPF LIFE Standard Plan "benchmark" estimated monthly payout figures are available
here.
However, I much prefer looking at CPF LIFE Escalating Plan payout estimates from age 70. The Escalating Plan is the only payout plan that tries to combat inflation, and you must have viable inflation defense in retirement. Bridging to age 70 from other assets (including other CPF savings) is generally the smart play, too. Here are the CPF LIFE Escalating Plan
initial monthly payout estimates for a person born in 1971 (age 55 in 2026), expressed in 2041 Singapore dollars:
- Basic Retirement Sum (S$110,200): S$1,020 male / S$930 female
- Full Retirement Sum (S$220,400): S$1,920 male / S$1,740 female
- Enhanced Retirement Sum (S$440,800): S$3,680 male / S$3,330 female
And here are the same estimates pulled back to 2026 Singapore dollars assuming 2%/year average inflation over the next 15 years:
- BRS: S$758 male / S$691 female
- FRS: S$1,427 male / S$1,293 female
- ERS: S$2,734 male / S$2,474 female
If your reaction is, "Those figures are quite low!" then you have a good reaction. Retirement financial math is not easy. How'd you like to live on ~S$700 of real (assuming 2%/year inflation) monthly income for the rest of your life? It wouldn't be fun, would it? So...don't do that! Try to do better, even much better
