Ha ha sounds like you squeezing your spouse when she barely has BRS.
Spouse cannot withdraw from her ra through property pledge. Becos her ra was through my topup from cash or oa. It is accurate to say i take care of her retirement of 2000 monthly payout via basic plan

You said she barely has BRS amount after being squeezed by you. And if she is under CPFL, no way can she receive 2k monthly under whichever best CPFL plan.

I did not. It was u. Her projected monthly payout is 2000 when she reach 65 basic plan.
oic you referring to the BRS limit. The maximum you can withdraw from RA via property pledge is ur BRS limit.
Look like ur cpf knowledge still has many holes

I remember 2 days before i reached 55, i was looking at my cpf balance online and noticed that RA was created 3 days before i reached 55.
And frs sum of 171k was transferred from sa to ra.
I tried to transfer from oa to sa to topup to frs in sa of 171k, it went through 2 days before i touched 55.
So try this if u are reaching 55 soon.
So your this experience was not recent but back in 2018? Interesting your RA was created 2 days before your 55th birthday. For me 55 in 2019, the RA was literally created at midnight. 115+ pm I checked CPF app no RA no transfer, 12+ am I checked CPF app RA was created and funded via the SA then OA transfer.
He was lucky to have his SA shielded indirectly in 2010, not 2018

No his experience was in 2010 was once of a kind when he turned 55 with 171k minimum created 3 days before birth date.

I have 2010 an annual statement of a person who also turned 55 but RA was created exactly on the birth date. (Mon Jun 7).

But in another 2011 annual statement of a person who turned 55, the RA was created 3 days before birth date (Mon Dec 5).

What's the heck going on?

Anyway I will shield SA and hope that RA is created 3 days before 55 and SA become zero and then I transfer OA to SA to have double shield  Siao lor. Like that also can meh?

ha ha I mixed up with another forumer in CPF Account Value Thread where he said his wife's RA Not sufficient for even BRS and no property pledg. So your wife also has ERS for delayed CPFL payout? (y)

FYI the shielded SA amount is included into the FRS sum in SA.

So try this if u reaching 55 soon was a lobang. So I assume you shielded SA before 55. The 3 days before 55, CPFB swiped the remaining SA plus OA to RA to form the minimum sum. Since SA is 0, you transferred 171k OA to fill the SA 2 days before 55. No? But you actually said 171k from SA was transferred to RA and then after you managed to transfer 171k from OA to SA. If that is the case, you are damn lucky, without shielding SA, you managed to have 171k in RA. and another 171k in SA.

So the try you mentioned was not a lobang but a stroke of luck not worth trying if you get rejected and end up no SA.

i did not shield becos i didn't know about it.
All i remembered once the ra was created and frs transfer to ra from sa, there is a remainder of xx amount in sa, i transferred (frs-xx) from oa to sa.
If u shielded sa of more than frs at that time, u would not be able to transfer any monies from oa to sa.

So in other words, if I have $300k in my SA and want to have ERS in my RA, I dun have to shield all my holdings in SA? So CPF will only create RA with FRS? Then later I just transfer the remaining amount from OA?

No.

Transfers into your own RA draw first from your SA then, if drained, from your OA. It's really the same as a SA/OA withdrawal followed by a RA top up, but it's offered as a single transaction convenience to those CPF members who want it.

Of course you can use cash instead of SA/OA dollars to top up a Retirement Account, and transfers from a family member's OA to your RA are usually possible as long as the donor meets minimum balance requirements.

If you don't shield your SA, CPFB will transfer FRS amount from SA to RA and the balance remains in SA. If you wish to top up RA to ERS, you can only transfer balance in SA follow by OA or top up by cash. Is this what you really want?

What make you think If u shielded sa of more than frs at that time, u would not be able to transfer any monies from oa to sa.

If you could transfer FRS-xx from OA to SA even after meeting FRS in RA, then there nothing to prevent you from doing same after meeting FRS in RA with shield in SA when in the condition for topping up SA in both the circumstances could be breached due to oversight or system fault.

If I shield my SA 1 month before my 55th birthday, can I still top up my SA (via OA or Cash) during this 1 month? Since my SA will be just 40K, way below FRS.

Calculation of FRS includes amount used for investment

if you have 40k, then it is a total waste of time to shield
