what is the SRP? Just the proc
SRP @ SGD$293
Crazy so ex for a proc with yester arch...no wonder people switching to Intel.
Amazon can sell for $220 you distros really...boss want to change new Ferrari is it?
AMD shld cut people like you guys out.

Kick me out for what? You always have the option to buy Intel, no need suan till like that.
Kick distro out, u be the next distro ah? If so, hope ppl kick u out later...![]()
so now convergent distro of amd?
Uniquely SG pricing.AMD FX-8370E can fight with Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz liao
price wise it is still more expensive than i5-4570
I don't know, if the FX 8370E has so many advantanges, are there any benefits from buying the cheaper FX 8370 non-E version?SRP $293 is already competing price with the 4570 @ $300. BUT one could buy with bundle price and get this at much lower than $293. Nobody buys stuffs at SRP in SLS.
Benchmark shows that the 8370E is somewhat also quite efficient, with slightly higher TDP. And did not hit higher TDP than 95W yet if doing just mild oc.
This chip on is able to OC effortlessly. On stock it is about the same standard with the i5-4460.
On mild OC they found out that the chip have not reached its TDP rated at 95W.
It was still found somewhat lower than what it predecessor has.
Advantages of buying 8370E
Higher clocked
8 cores 8 threads
Overclockable unlike the 4460 locked
Normal oc is rated at lower than 95W TDP
If applications utilizes more than 4 cores, this cpu shines and will be in leaped over the 4570 and above. Quite close to i7 standards.
Extremely high cache memory 16mb on L2.
Heat output tested by the ang mohs was fine and stays below 60deg on just air cooling.
Disadvantages
Extreme overclocking of more than 4.3ghz requires a lot of power of more than 100w.
32nm
Single threaded operation is still slower than intels counterpart.
Has no IGPU
I don't know, if the FX 8370E has so many advantanges, are there any benefits from buying the cheaper FX 8370 non-E version?
Not sure if completely correct, but my understanding of the FX 8370E is that the 8370E has a much lower base clock (3.3Ghz) than the 8370 (4.0Ghz) in order to attain this lower TDP and the 8370E compensates for this loss of performance with an equal turbo frequency to the 8370 (4.3Ghz) which means that if the 8370E gets to use all 8 cores, it may end up consuming the same amount of power as the 8370.The thing that really blew away people from buying AMD is that, they dont get higher performances on single threaded workload.
Most software developers do not utilize more cores.
But recently the trend has been picking up on multi cores gaming. But is still too early to say. Perhaps other game developers may not use more than 4 cores for games. If it does use more than 4 cores, it will match i7 4790k out there in terms of gaming performance.
8370 non E takes up more power than the E version. Have not read up more about it.
Its fine in terms of gaming experience. But if the games does not utilize that much cores, and one fits a SLI or a Xfire setup. The cpu will struggle to cope with 2 cards.
Hi,
Yes.

then why no bring in Athlon X4 860k![]()
Not sure if completely correct, but my understanding of the FX 8370E is that the 8370E has a much lower base clock (3.3Ghz) than the 8370 (4.0Ghz) in order to attain this lower TDP and the 8370E compensates for this loss of performance with an equal turbo frequency to the 8370 (4.3Ghz) which means that if the 8370E gets to use all 8 cores, it may end up consuming the same amount of power as the 8370.
Thus, my impression is that the lower TDP of the 8370E is meant for people who wants energy savings or have lower quality mobos (3+1/4+1 phases) to be able to swap their older Phenom IIs for an FX without fear of burning out their VRMs on their mobos and if seeking performance through OC, it makes more financial sense to get the cheaper 8370 instead as all notions of power efficiency goes out of the window when doing OC anyway.
Thus, I am wondering why would anyone want to buy a FX 8370E because if seeking power efficiency, it makes more sense to go Intel (unless you got no $$$ for an i7) and if seeking budget multicore performance, it makes more sense to buy the FX 8370 instead.
Distro should bring AMD 5350.
Good CPU for HTPC.
