Cpu and gpu high temp

Friend com with like like quite high temp on idle and playing overwatch.

Done cleaning all dust and reapplied thermal paste(mx4)

Specs:
I7 4770k with asus maximus vi hero with h100i
2x8gb ddr3 ram
Gb 1080
Dk wad cm 860w psu
Dk wad ssd

Fans:
Front 1x 200mm
Back 1x 120mm exhAust
Top 2x 120mm with rad

Idle temp:
Cpu fluatuate at 40+ to 50+
Gpu at 46

Load
Cpu 70+
Gpu 50

What kinda temps are you expecting? Considering your ambient temp alone can be 28-32C, unless yours is 24/7 aircon room.

Your fan config - top are intake or exhaust? Exhaust will be more optimized for airflow I think.

Got pic? Didn't know R5 can put 200mm fan, lol.

I asking for friend. He using cooler master 690 III.
Im kinda expecting idle cpu temp at 35-40 with h100i. I didnt expect it to hit 50 with it.

Press down lightly on the heatsink of the H100i at the CPU area, and see if temps drop significantly.
If so you probably should tighten it abit more or remount it.

If not you can try adjusting fan/pump curve.
Should be able to get below 40 deg.

GPU temps looks normal.

Ha, I see. Got confused.

What's his idle clock and voltage? Maybe his comp is set to high performance mode?
Asked him reset bios
Temps hitting around 37-40
