CPU Cooling recommendations

Hi,

I have a 7700 CPU in a Fractal Design node 202 MATX casing. The CPU current CPU fan (stock) runs quite noisy, and the PC will be on for quite long period of times...

Is there any recommendations on cooling system that I can use? Any good low profile heatsink? Could I just get an AIO liquid, since I don't have a graphics card; the fan could be put in the graphics card section of the case.

Thanks.

How's the noise level on full load? Do you also have other fans in the system?

Don't notice noise when I game..don't hear anything on normal usage..

Have another 2 x scythe gt drawing air at the gfx compartment..

you have a few options due to height clearance, best silent option is noctua nh-L9i or c7

I've moved away from iTX to MATX because of limited cooling options. There are good low profile coolers out there, but they cost a lot and is still limited in terms of cooling capability. If you are concerned about heat, it will be worth considering moving to a bigger case. In the Node 202, you don't have much wriggle room to improve cooling.

Noctua L9i is a good option. Carousell have quite a few pieces at decent price.

Consider delidding your cpu. It will help tremendously.

For brand new only, Cryorig C7 is the next best thing you can get.

I am using this cooler master hyper 212, it has a big fan and heatsink,
I run it at a middle speed , therefore it's quiet. My cpu is under 40oc. The temperature of my cpu only went up 4oc from start of gaming until the end..

All PWM Fan becomes noisy when the sys fan reaches 80deg cos the speed is @100% level unless yours is not PWM ones

Firstly, you can't fit a Hyper 212 in the Node 202. Its ITX and very limited space.

Secondly, I am not sure about the specs of your computer. However to see a 4 degs in heat in game as compared to idle is hard to believe. Either you are playing a very light game, or there is something wrong with the temperature probe. Hyper 212 is good, but is impossible to keep a CPU super cool when it is under heavy gaming load.

My C7 fan failed twice (probably due to close proximity to GT case fan). So now it's just the bare C7 heatsink being cooled by the GT :s13:

cpu - i7-6700 with asrock h270m pro 4 mainboard.

games - pcsx2 emulator which can slow down a hi end system.

power supply - wall socket without fuse for best performance and run cooler (mainboard 34oc, cpu 38oc) you might think i'm crazy but I found that all electronic run cooler with better performance without fuse. you need balls and brain to run without fuse. My whole system is plug into wall socket without fuse.:)

You don't need brains to run electronic devices without fuse. You can't control any spikes in power from the main socket. So you are just running the risk. And to be honest, I am not sure how no fuse translates to a miracle 4 degs increase in temps between idle and load temps air cooled. When it comes to air cooling a CPU, the norm temp delta between idle and load temps should easily hit 20 degs. Especially when you claim very intensive load. I am no user of emulator so can't comment about the load.

pcsx2 stopped being a bother to high end system since c2q, sandy and haswell became a thing

unless im missing something about the gsdx plugin

now the fun toy is rpcs3

Shall request for HDB to remove fuse from their KV power supply at lvl 1.

You can't remove any fuse you like,, can cause fire

The max setting can cause a hi end system to slow down.

How do you operate the vacuum cleaner without the fuse ? The power that
supply to our home is limited, only remove fuse for important items (fridge, washing machine, computer) to operate cooler and performance, also check that u do not exceed the power output of wall socket' max output of 250v 13 ampre. (~1300 watts).

Just replace the fuse wire (size of a hair) with plug that do not have fuse or insert you own wires together with the fuse for items to run cooler with performance. The fuse for pub power supply has a size thicker than a hair and is for protection.

Remove the fuse from the plug lah.

250V * 13A = 3250W. If max socket output only 1300W, moi would've already chibaboom with 2600W iron and 2200W vacuum
