CPU fan keeps stopping

The back of my CPU fan keeps stopping. Using Corsair 780T.

Any idea what's wrong?

You mean control the fan speed? I using 3rd speed.

You said 3rd speed...that is from case? I think that 3rd speed is to control case fan. when u said cpu fan, i assume is the heat sink fan? Is that fan plug into motherboard cpu fan connector?

New pc? Or old pc but this problem just occur recently?

Case fan. 1 year pc. The problem occur few months. I have to touch the fan to move and after awhile stop again. Any idea what's happen?

Wow, that's an expensive case you got there. There's 2 years warranty, go claim warranty?

When the PC is off, and you spin the blades with your fingers - do they keep moving freely and glide gracefully to a stop?

Or do you feel resistance in the movement and they come to an abrupt halt really quickly?


I'm not surprised if the fan has lost its lubricant since 99.9% of chassis fans are generic sleeve bearing rubbish.

Unless you bought a Lian Li back in those days where they stuffed them full of ball bearing goodness.

They move freely and stop. Is the case fan replaceable? Any recommendation?

Because the case is too big. I want to try fixing first. If cannot fix maybe will go claim warranty.
