just broke 3 of the 4 pins of my CPU stock fan while replacing thermal paste thinking of getting other fan instead of another stock to try since I have only been using stock fans since forever. not looking for anything expensive either so next time get new rig already have a feel and know what to do.

anything that I should take note of or can just anyhow purchase one to replace? its an old rig i5-2400 (1155) with tp67b+ mobo but im guessing even the newer fans should still be compatible with old cpu right?

check whether your casing can fit.

Check specs for the cooler. Ensure they support socket LGA 1155 will do.

Also, the height of the cooler is lower than your chassis clearance height so to make sure it fit in your chassis.

any way was looking at the cryorig c7 but seems to be pricer so probably am going for the cryorig m9i or coolermaster hyper 212 since price and temps comparison are about the same. went to measure also from mobo to casing height is about 17cm. I don't think those capacitors next to the cpu would affect the placement of the fan right? also is there a specific direction the fan should face so in case cant fit in one direction I could maybe change direction to try to fit

Hyper 212 can fit it won't hit your caps.
