CPU hitting 80+ degrees

is getting 70~80 degrees on IntelBurn Test "Standard" stress level normal? I just re-applied Artic mx-4 thermal paste using 1-dot method.
and could someone share what does the results mean?

Standard: [70~80 degrees]

High: [73~85 degrees]

not very familiar with CPU stuffs but i heard that prolong temp of 80+ degrees might damage my hardware? any advise? or is this normal?
would there be a heat sink issue?

Also note that you are using a stress test when 90% of the time your CPU will be barely active.

encode video isn't as hot as IBT .... so you get 70plus temperature on normal workload
no problem for years on stock clock (no overclock) as long your casing is sufficiently ventilated

Stress test in most occasions are not indicative of real world usage, so no need to worry about your temps hitting 80 degrees.

my NUCs constantly hit 80 degrees and above so what is your computer form factor

Not a cause of concern tbh. At the most your fan will start to spin up, maybe your CPU apply rate limit but your CPU isn't going to explode and kill you.

i think it is uh. its below my work desk, but fan against the wall.

don't worry about idle temp too

many people like to compare idle temp

but they dunno the temperature sensor is not accurate at "room temperature"
intel included the sensor not for this purpose .... it's only matters at the last 5 degree celcius to tjmax which is around 95 to 105 d celcius
when too near , the cpu will throttle down from full speed ...
this is the important function of the temperature sensor , not for people to compare idle temp ... that's why got odd reading of computer colder than room temperature when they bootup
