The unthinkable back in 2011 when both vendors started offering IGP directly from their processor die have made extremely fast pace progression...

Try telling anyone in 2011 Intel IGP will surpass AMD iGPU in 4 years time....

the time period between broadwell and skylake is quite short ?

The % gain for skylake from broadwell is not gonna be 10-15% gain. But a negligible one.

The most that it will gain is the implementation of DDR4 and slightly more PCIe lanes, and more m.2 ssd slots.

Else there is nothing much in terms of performance gain.

I bet the performance gain from broadwell to skylake will be similar case as ivy and haswell.

Really don't "normal" Skylake will gain PCI-E lanes or not. These chips have always been at 16 lanes so those who need more are forced to go for the -E chips.
