hi,

I got a i5 cpu with a fake win 7 OS, 8G ram.

I wish to reformat the whole cpu as its very slow and reregister with an authentic win7 key.

Basically the desktop is use for work, online surfing and mp3.

As I'm not very savvy with such, is there anyone that does repair?
If so, how much would it cost?

which version of windows is recommended? 7 or 10?

Located at punggol.

That's not repair.

Just buy a proper Win10 license. When you install it will ask you if you want to do a reformat first. Let the OS do it all for you.

FYI, DO NOT approach/believe any people that want to charge you for this - the moment they hear "reformat the CPU" they will know you are a n00b and will cheat you / overcharge you.

Seriously, just buy a proper retail Win10. It will allow you to reformat your harddrive before install.

Pop the win10 CD into the CD-ROM, boot from it. Problem solved.

to be frank, I actually bought a win 10 license key... the seller want me to pay extra if I want it in a cd..
best part is the cpu don't have CD rom nor DVD rom..
I tried to save into USB but it also seem, the front usb or the desktop is not detecting the usb..

hence, its challenging for someone like me..

try to put your usb behind.. the ports on the motherboard I/O. you have to make your usb bootable first. then copy the files over and start the installation process.

Stop getting your OS from all these funny sources and get a legit installer.

the cpu cannot load to desktop..
I was hoping to bring it to Bios, tried F2, ESC, everything..

it just won't go in.. :s13:

I really don't know what to do with this cpu..
I actually paid someone to build the rig for Diablo 3.

throw it away, felt kinda wasteful.
buy a new one or laptop, but for our little usage, it won't be that savvy.

This issue sounds more serious than it seems. U cannot even boot into bios to change boot drive order?

Sorry TS to intrude your thread

I am also looking for a 'repair' which is in fact a motherboard asrock b150m-itx bios update for kaby lake cpu. I bought the MB+i5 7500 and didn't realized the MB needs to be version P7.00 in order to plug and play with the gen7 cpu. My MB have this P1.40 sticker thing printed on the board.

Does anyone know any stores or person does MB bios updating? I live in the extreme west. Or any cheap 1151 cpu i can buy just for the update ....

Bring to distro to flash for you for free. Even a Skylake G4400 would cost you 90 bucks or so to buy.
