CPU Upgrade recommendation

Hi all,

It's been awhile i look into computer stuff and i am way out of date. My rig as shown on the right.

I am planning to retain my GPU, SDD and HDD. I play mostly FPS, third person RPG and action games. I am intending to play the current games in 2018 with at least High settings. Next game i am playing would be Far Cry 5.

My budget is about S$1200. My GPU was upgraded back in 2015. Wanted to get GTX 1070 but am wondering if it is worth it?

With your gaming requirements I'd suggest a 1080 at least.

Ideally wait until end April / may. Should have the Ryzen 2 and possibly new 2070 cards. This could mean a flood of 1080 and 1080ti cards.

But your budget is very tight if you want to play all those 2018 titles at high.

Yup more or less that late. But even with 2000 series out. 1000 series still will be priced quite high

Nvidia will raise the price to filter out the miners. Indirectly gamers need to fork out more too.

Actually nvidia doesn't raise prices on the cards.

It's the distributors and retailers that do.

I'd still recommend waiting. You will get some really awesome deals. Even I might sell my 1800x and 1080ti around then

they announcing end of this month. official release is April. I'm gonna hoot a r5 2600
