Cracked switch

From the looks, it cant be turned on and off many times before it spoils. Currently, it is left ON 24/7. I am not sure if this is the best solution since it is impossible to get contractors to repair the switch right now. The switch is connected to the washing machine and is essential

I recently replaced all my light/heater switches with their Schneider range and quite happy with the result. (Got bored with the existing ones and the lavender Schneiders looked nice, though more silver than lavender)

Tat time my switch "sunken" in abit. Tot siao liao may nd to replace whole powerpoint box but shld be coming to 80-100 w contractor n parts. Nd to drill on wall n replace the powerpoint. Lucky tis "switch problem" is w the spring in it n generally most hardware shop did sell only the top cover w switch. So i jus unscrew faulty top cover n replaced. Think abt 3-5$. 5min job.

But take note mus brg the sample there to show the shop seller. There mayb diff models outside. Mine is the normal type.

Depends on how old... If casing box also brittle ... Sometimes the whole thing need to replace

Else changing the front plate will do


I replaced a single gang to double gang last week... Wire need to extend a little though

If need to ask about cracked switch, probably not savvy enough to change the switch himself. That is why I didn't suggest it.

Electrical stuff better leave to the electricians unless you know what you are doing.

T&J brand standard 86mm single socket. 10 minutes job at most, if it's working currently, hang on till ** lifted.

What's the black PVC insulation tape doing there? If the 3 pins plug cracked, change it as well.

Buy an extension power socket from any supermarket to use first?
at least u can off what you do not need with that.
