Hi Guys,

I'm thinking of creating a new PC for gaming etc
Could anyone recommend parts etc?

However, there is slight trick to this

The PC prob will be on most of the time. Will need parts that run at low heat / energy saver @ low usage

However, it must be able to run @ 1080p for gaming @ HQ w/o issues

Hence prority: Energy usage #1 , Performance #2

Budget is probably 2-3k ...

btw:
are there new SSD with pci-e ?
Saw news that apple new macbook are using these, which are faster performing than sata type

I can tell you that your graphic card will be the energy sucker as u wanna game on HQ. YOu will need at least a 7850 or GTX 660 card onwards and these could easily chow off 220W of your PSU.

Low powered CPU also speed suffers.

You must reconsider your energy savings option.

The only lowed power CPU right now with an i5 would be Ivy setup.

And your budget so high you wanna build a low powered consumption rig?
Anyway i will just give some thoughts.

Mobo + CPU
Gigabyte h77m-d3h + i5-3350P (Max TDP 69W) ~ $319

Ram
Corsair Vengeance 1600mhz CL9 8gb Kit Low Profile 1.35V ~ $92

GPU
Gigabyte GTX760 Windforce ~ $400 should be (170W)

HDD
WD Green 1tb $85 (lowest power consumption but running at 5400rpm)

SSD
Plextor M5P 256gb ~ $259

PSU
Corsair CX500M 500W ~ $98

Chassis
Fractal Design R4 artic white ~ $159

ODD
Asus ODD ~ $24

Total ~ $1436 Build at Tradepac
