Creating playlists in Galaxy Note 3

I was told that I should use Android Transfer (I am Mac user) and create sub-folders in the music folder and these would function as playlists.

Have done so but they still don't appear as playlists even though the respective songs are in the respective sub-folders. I need to manually add each song to the correct playlist which will take years! Can anyone help please.
