Funny how they can Stage V2 so fast but take so long for Katana V2

Then again Stage V2 still has so many problems they needed two new firmware releases and then the DAC still doesn't work properly, so maybe it needs a V3 soon.

Fairly often - but as with most promos, offers are usually more appealing on products that they want to clear, older goods, or even newer products that have 'debuted' at a higher price but will always be on an 'offer price'.

If you're wondering if the Katana V2 will be going at a better price, it's a possibility, but it won't shift a lot from its SRP. The original Katana was hardly lower than $399 for a very long time and it's only recently that it hit the under $350 mark.

Thanks for the info! Looks like best bet will be to spread out their sales on more third party channel like lazada or shopee to take advantage of the platform's voucher instead. They seems to have an official shop on shopee but have not listed the katana v2 yet so far.

For v2 price at S$479 I feel the new feature is more suitable for the gamer who is using TV as monitor for HDMI ARC connection or home theater setup.

Upon looking at the comparison of v1 and v2, I noticed v2 have missing feature for the v1 7.1 virtual surround and Night mode (personal favorite), supported codec no more AAC.

I guess my v1 still very solid and probably not upgrade for v2 until it is spoiled.

It's still worth it for what it offers.
But if you want HDMI and dabble with SXFI via headphones, the V2 is your best option and has other nice little upgrades too.

my experience for the virtual surround effect was better than any other 2.1 speaker i used.

sound experience is really very personal and you will need to hear it yourself to determined if it suit you.

I would like to share this YouTube video below if this is allow, and you can try it with your speaker or headset if you are able to hear the direction from different angle with your current setup (you can go to any challenger showroom test the katana with this video and experience for yourself - health safety come first of course consider the current condition)
