Hi ,

I just bought a creative sound bar , creative stage 2 at the IT Show.

Currently using USB connection , it works great. However , I notice there is an e-arc port on the speaker.

My GPU and monitor are not HDMI e-arc enabled. The HDMI ports are there though

How do I go about this if I want to use HDMI audio ? Do I need an e-arc adapter? Where to get one?

Yes, you have to get an adapter but why not just use the USB connection. You can buy from lazada and shopee, newegg, probably easier to buy online since this is not a very common parts that retail shop carry.

Btw did you test creative soundbar SE and katana as well like what make you settle for stage 2.

It's complicated. In order to use the earc of the soundbar you need to
Connect the external input device and display with an HDMI cable. Connect the display and audio system with another HDMI cable. Connect the audio system to the display's HDMI input terminal bearing the text “ARC” or “eARC/ARC”.

Not sure why someone say eARC converter, despite there is.
Basically what is ARC is basically Audio Return Channel which most
PC monitor doesn't have except TV.

So that point bascially means can use with TV,
Those eARC converter are basically audio extractor nothing else.
Please do not be confused.

No point using HDMI audio from GPU, just use the 3.5mm input, or optical if your motherboard has one and you really want digital. USB is probably fine also. eARC is for TV use only.

Even Creative themselves call the Stage V2 a budget soundbar. I personally will not use the model for TV.

Because that is how he refer to it. Technically it should be called an audio extractor but given how OP do not seems that well verse in this area just calling it converter is easier. And if you search for the item that is what it is called frequently.
