Hello anyone using this soundbar with their PC?

Only some video files, when particularly the sound level spikes (but not particularly loud), the soundbar will just turn off... anyone experienced this issue? Any workaround?

Thanks!

The other sound bars from Creative used to have this power saving feature where it will turn off if it has been idle for a while. The wired sound bars have a toggle to turn it off. I have this turned off for my Creative Katana

Eh... I read about it online... my Stage Air V2 has both wired and wireless mode... I am connected via a USB-C cable... the issue is not that the sound bar is idle... when I play back a particular video file, could be a file on my PC or a YouTube video, the soundbar just turns off... when I turn it back on, after a few seconds, it goes off again... it feels like something in the sound profile of the video file triggers the sleep function on the sound bar... it's not the idle-turn off feature...

Could be intermittent connection from a loose usb port. This soundbar is powered by usb? Probably is because it lost power when disconnected and reconnected into standby mode? Got try with other ports to see if have the same issue?

Ha, I just received Stage Air V2 yesterday, is it a particular youtube video? Maybe I can test it for you, let me know which youtube and at which timeline. :)

Thanks! It's not a consistent fault unfortunately...

Try this YouTube trailer... it kind of shut down my Stage Air V2 at the 00:10 mark when the background sound effects starting having that heavy thumping sound... see if it affects your copy of the soundbar... today I played back and my soundbar didn't shut down... it's just really weird...

Tried few times with BT and USB, volume at ard 70% no issue, the thumping sound is not really heavy at ard 0:10 mark btw.

I realized it occurs when my soft volume is maxed out on Windows (I used an integrated sound chip on my motherboard) and my soundbar volume is like 59% of higher... might be my sound chip... thanks for checking...

My Stage Air V2 recently got the same issue. Music or videos with sudden loud sound will shut down the soundbar. Very irritating. Wonder if it’s soundbar faulty already.

Yes exactly... mine had this problem right from the start... I have to tune down my volume on the software mixer or YouTube window in order to use the soundbar... can't really determine what is wrong...

7. If the built-in battery is completely dead, can Creative Stage Air V2 still operate powered by an external power source?
No; the soundbar requires replacement.
Thanks for the FAQ, do you connect the soundbar via Bluetooth or USB cable? I wonder if it's due to my USB port on my computer that loud sounds cause the soundbar to shut down...

Another way is to keep the soundbar volume low at 50% and use the soft volume control to adjust the volume... I'll test and see if it works...

Ok... I found out why the soundbar shuts down but there's nothing we can do about it... there is some kind of audio safety volume level on the soundbar... whenever the volume level spikes in so that the Windows volume indicator turns red (signaling unsafe volume levels), the soundbar will simply shut down. I think it's a safety feature but it may be a bug. I have never seen a speaker set behave like this before... not sure what can be done though...

I tried bringing down the soundbar volume level right down and play around with the soft volume control on YouTube... but the output becomes very soft and when there's a very loud scene, the volume level will still spike high enough to trigger the kill switch and the soundbar will still turn off...

So I kind of wasted my money on this... it's great for music cos the volume levels do not spike like in a movie or video... and thus it's not suitable for general use actually...

If anyone has a workaround, please let us know... thanks!

If it is an artificial limit, I think it could be an EU thing. I recall some wireless earbuds have same volume limiter required b law to prevent ear damage. Same thing for some action cam operating temperature limit.

Need a custom firmware to flash so that this limitation is bypassed... but so far seen only 1 version that was sent to user who posted on Reddit... but it fixes some of the issues like volume sync which is already present on my device so the firmware version is likely the same as what's on my soundbar...

I have the same problem, very irritating and makes the Sound bar quite useless. I keep the soundbar volume level only at 50% and still on any video which has even a short sharp sound, it turn off. I hope someone from Creative issues a firmware update for this
