Creative T3 speaker owners liplai!

My T3 volume control knob every year need go back creative change new one cause of the volume fluctuation problem. Anyone else got this problem? Any recommendations?

I also almost change every year. Workaround is don't touch the knob and probably can use an desktop amp instead.

Agree that the knob is a big problem. I don't touch it too often and use system to control the volume instead.

It's been a long QC problem with not only T3 but Creative's speakers
for so long.
Fundamentally it's the quality of the knob, ought Creative
should just change it to a digital volume knob.
Where you just press up or down to adjust the volume.

Press up and down by creative also can go wrong one.

Lol! Thats why I'm staying away from creative speakers already. Every time I will feedback to Creative when I go to their service centre to buy the knob but they always say got tweak abit end up still same thing. Really cmi.

since creative can't be bothered to fix the problem when it is already a known issue, I solved it by upgrading to Audio Engine A2+.

SGD$15 for the knob and SGD$15 per satellite speaker...iirc...

haiz.... for my set...change knob liao.....speaker got problem...

change speaker liao....connector ports on subwoofer got problem - end up speaker got static sound when crank up the volume and 1 speaker softer than the other speaker......nnb.......part by part spoil...

time to change to x7 ???

Got asked the service centre staff before.

They did not reveal the price...but they advise that it's bo hua to buy the subwoofer..

maybe TS can help to ask for the price while buying the knob?

I'm trying the contact cleaner method first but if it doesn't work I'll ask when I go down next week. Though most likely I'm giving up on this speaker soon lol.

thanks for the info bro. appreciate it. if i were you and really the whole set so much problem, i think better to just change a new system. waste too much time and efforts no point too; sometimes time more important then money!

I also didn't touch the volume knob since the first day I started using the T3. It has served me well for the past 2 years. If it ups lorry might consider T4 to replace it.

The price of x7 is not worth, rather just hoot a Micro hifi
like Denon M40, add in a subwoofer and you got
a more powerful 2.1 setup.

Not to forget it cost the same as x7 but cheaper
even if with subwoofer.
I be setting up one in the future.

... can't hear the difference between the 2 passive speakers in the youtube clip....

Anyway... just to ask...:

i) XM7 and Dali Zensor are passive bookshelf speakers - if I do not use creative x7 to power them.... is there any other alternative to power them up besides choosing other USB dac?


ii) Given that Dali Zensor costs SGD$500 without DAC(http://www.e77.asia/#!product/prd1/3465855435/dali-zensor-1)... and price of X7 + XM7 = SGD$499 during IT show in Mar 2016... the pricing is too irresistable... =(
