Not sure about the law or sue or if there is a case here...
but i want to see the industry improve by giving customers more info for better informed decision...

If a MCC code is required by payment point, at least display it at the merchant clearly so that we know if it is excluded for points/rewards/cashback or not.

Many things can be done here to protect consumer's rights lo... all like turning a blind eye..
so can understand how frustrating it is for us. :)
I think this 1 need regulation. but not sure if it is forthcoming

Ambiguity is the only thing providing better rewards for some transactions. If it is obvious to everybody, there is hardly any special category. The banks are not stupid…

user is asking for consumer right's. so yes there's transparency, but it is a double-edged sword

A vague consumer T&C wil be interpreted in the consumer’s favor

If you think reporting to MAS will make a difference you can go ahead.
yeah, a friend of mine tried it and the issue was instantly fixed, got a message from the SVP in charge, and got gift certificates delivered via same day courier.

lol some people here might actually be posting from actual experience or domain knowledge you know!

ok lets assume that should be the case. who decides whether it is indeed vague?

I assume you have to report something that the MAS handles, which is bank regulation. If it's something silly like requiring customer to go to branch during circuit breaker, data privacy breach involving a bank, or terms and conditions with clearly wrong wording, they will forward to the bank. If fraud, easy to point to police.

What's the best card for big supermarket purchases of say $500?
CITI cash back card used to give 8% but now became 2%.

For the cashback card there is 8% on grocery.
Besides big players like Giant, CS, NTUC, SengShiong, does small ones like Scarlett, prime qualify?
Which are the ones already tried n proven?
