After Binance.com got banned, I switched over to Gemini because of these reasons. As a buy-and-hold crypto investor, Gemini works well as I don't need to use mobile app frequently.
Pros
Pros
- Easy deposit: fund account with FAST transfer (first time may take 48h, otherwise it’s within 30 min for me)
- Easy withdrawal: done similarly using FAST transfer
- Buy with SGD: directly trade BTC and ETH using SGD
- Low trading fee: 0.35% (must use ActiveTrader mode on desktop)
- Gemini Earn: can earn some interest if you hold in their account (not very high though)
- Free first 10 crypto withdrawals per calendar month: a huge plus to transfer to my cold wallet or another place for interest
- Properly regulated: regulated by the New York State Department of Financial Services, the Singapore affiliate operates under the supervision of MAS and has applied for a Major Payment Institution License
- ActiveTrader only on desktop, if you use Gemini mobile app to trade, it is 1.49% trading fee which is way too ex
- To buy other crypto besides BTC and ETH, you buy either of them first then look up the respective crypto pairs (e.g. LTC-BTC)
