wah where you get this comparison??

CPU bottleneck aside, GTX580 was more stuttery in comparison to my own R7870 with exact same settings back during a previous Corbell event demo. I had to dial all settings back to high and the 580 still won't reach 60fps

Used to play crysis 3 on my 7870 and it wasn't even smooth on high settings already. Playing on 1920x1080 too.

Mine runs fine with post-processing on low, shading + shadows on high, everything else on very high. AA off obviously. Dipped to around 35fps for intensive parts and hovers around 55fps for regular stuff. With OC, comfortably above 45fps at all times and maintains 60fps for regular stuff

I read that crysis 3 heavily favors nvidia so that could be the reason. amd cards seems to suffer performance in the game.

Where liao? All I can remember was that crysis 3 was an AMD-launch title

even my sb i7 i feel still fast enuf for everything i do

For gaming, even the i5 2400 SB is fast enough. Anything i5 SB onwards suffices for today's gaming. The GPU makes the difference in fps performance for mass majority of games out there

need 7950 at least...

Ya, 7950 would run it pretty well, I used to play Crysis 3 on very high setting with 7950 + the rig's spec on the rite-->

Framerates would hover around 30~40 fps, AA & shadow details are tuned down to reduce frame rate dipping in some big area.

I think he referring to benchmarks on tech sites and so on. I also notice crysis 3 performs better on nvidia.
