Public transport will be available for those q-ing overnight

Extracted -

JUST IN: All train services, both MRT and LRT, will operate overnight on Friday (March 27) at frequencies of up to 20 minutes, as will 41 feeder bus services, for those who want to pay their last respects to the late Mr ‪#‎LeeKuanYew‬.

There will be no overnight train services on Saturday night as public transport operators need to carry out maintenance of trains and tracks.

As i said, they are not there to get any freebies or discounted promotions.

Everyone's intention including those who cut que (due to their time constraint) is still to pay their respect to LKY.

Let us not be too harsh on them. :)

No matter how you put it, queue cutting is not justifiable. If you do not have the luxury of time to queue, please pay your tributes at the nearest cc instead. Because at the end of the day, it's the thought that counts.

Everyone has another place to be or another thing to do. There really isn't any reason to cut queues.

I actually won't blame those who cut queue.
Their objective is still the same - to pay last respect to LKY - they are not there to get some cheapskate freebies.
So, it is understandable.
Coz not everybody can afford to wait 7-8 hours, many people need to prepare to rush to work later, or other important appointments (such as medical appointment, catch a flight, etc), but they are still eager and sincere enough and want to pay their genuine respect to LKY.

no offence and i totally understand everyone wants to pay respects to Mr Lee.
however, paying respects also comes from the heart.
everyone is also busy and does not have the time.
but if you cannot sacrifice that little time and queue properly and in expense, eats up others time when they're queuing in proper, then just go a CC near u. :s8:

i know the kind intention and gesture is there.. but i still find it unacceptable

So their time is more important than others?

Cmon, if they don't have the time to queue like everybody else, then don't go. Nobody will say they are not sincere.

Technically, Chiam See Tong is a peasant like us.

But at least the right thing was done in letting him see up close. Good call. :vijayadmin:

I'm not justifying or promoting 'que cutting'.
All i said was 'it is understandable' due to their time constraint and eagerness to pay their last respect to LKY before rushing to their urgent appointments, and i say 'so lets not be too harsh on them'.

And i believe, many of them, infact most of us, do not know we can pay our respect at some CCs until today.

My conclusion: let us not bash those who cut que previously; they did it for a genuine cause. ;)
