Just now I went to take the free boat ride from Central, alight at UOB, many bridges all blocked, all the way got pple guide u to main queueing area

thats why i said, those who are bother about having ft in the queue are really petty

vast majority of the crowd are sinkie. simi suggestion to hv seperate queue for sinkie and ft, it won't help

update on my que status:
currently in the line in the parliament house.
outdoor weather is sunny with some wind.

1:15pm strolled into padang field. ppl were passing out umbrellas n giving out tissues, drinks (mineral water, yeos, liang teh, breadtalk giving breads n cakes), plastic fans.
1:20 being placed in blocks of tentages and sat down to relax in holding area. reminded constantly not to cluster together.
1:50 exit padang holding area to esplanade
2:00 where the real queue begins, all e way snaking to opposite MS/mandarin(float).
along the way plenty of ppl giving out drinks, food, umbrellas and ponchos.
2:15 small holding point at float stand. sheltered.
2:16 released to cont walking.
2:35 walk stop walk stop..... the difficult part is here because of the sun.
3:30 walk stop walk stop opposite victoria memorial hall.
3:45 NS major briefed that there would be a holding point just before the tunnel under bridge to prevent suffocation there. and it would take less than 1.5hr to reach the parliament hse from here.
4:05 reach white tentage (pen n card issued. end of it are the xray machines
4:30 entered gate of parliament house
4:50 still waiting in the house..left lane move much faster, right lane jam. why is for u to ownself go find out...

please help to thank the volunteers and nsf here! they are awesome!!

I gave up at 4am last night, and visited TP CC instead today.
From the look of the PH room graphics, it looks like a wrong venue which only allows a single line flow.

Could have been 3-4x faster , had it have been in a big centralised location, where visitors can flow from all 4 sides of the stage/casket.

Again, the turnout was certainly unexpected, and already the organisers/nsf are certainly doing a good job, adapting fast and facilitating to the all paying LKY last respects..

There were many who went last night and came again today with their families and friends. I met quite a few while we sat down at the padang and chatted.

Side note:
For those who are there and waiting for their turn to PH.

Although it's hot and the queue is long. Look around you and you will see many young & old standing/walking next to you, just looking forward to paying their respect to the late Mr Lee KY. They just went there and join the queue instead of complaining about everything.

Note:
Don't forget to smile a little to the NS boys & the volunteers who are there whole/everyday. If you are more generous, a little thank you will be nice.

The management is much better today. They really give priority to those who really need it. My friend with a 8months old kid on stroller in and out less than 30mins.
