The area is just too small. There should be a place where there are multiple entrance and exits so that public can enter from different sides to pay respect instead from just a single side.

I hope LHL extend the lying in state for at least a few more days!!!

Invitations have already send out to dignitaries for funeral on Sunday. How to extend? Not possible.

If dignitaries wants to extend they will still extend. In fact they should be honored that they are postponing their visit due to huge crowd paying respects to LKY.
They should be happy for coming to pay respect to such a honours man.
I don't think many leaders in their country has such a big turn out given that Singapore is so much smaller than theirs.

Queue till so hungry 😫
Our tent area the people all spread out n some sleeping/resting on the grass.. We were made to spread out n sit down, like so wasting time.. Heard that priority queues were bottlenecked and so our main line has to pause to let priority queues go through.. Can see from here that Connaught Drive queue (that leads direct to Parliament Hse) is at uber crawling speed.. Think I shld just give up liao haiz..

No more updates on the length of the Q? Can't still be 7 hrs right?

The official website advises public not to join the queue now. Most likely >8 hours already.

But couple of my friends went and they queued for about 5 hours.
Saw 1 started at 6+ came out 11, another 9, came out at 2.

Other leaders have the schedule line up. Those promised to come this Sunday but not able to turn up on other day of extension, how would ppl view them? It's not something as simple as "extending".

I was doing my report and keep on updating myself thru this post on the best timing to go to Parliament House to pay respect.

Seems that timing is getting worst and worst, and to think that I intend to go on Sat morn ard 3am before tomb sweeping.

I am not sure if this has been mentioned before, but maybe the MIW might consider placing real time webcams on the actual Mr LKY lying in state and broadcast to projectors located at all the community sites. In this way, maybe we might not all gather at Parliament House.

I suspect that the MIW might be trying to solve this problem presently, and just that they are in real need of manpower to control the crowd which has initially been focused on 1 central area to all around Singapore if the above is implemented, esp on a wkend.

Of coz it might cause an even bigger mayhem, but I believe this can really let the whole 6 million plus population in Singapore to really pay their final respects to Mr LKY.

Anyway, I am glad that sinkies are really united now in queing up to pay respect to our always beloved LKY.

Flood gates were notably opened after LHL became the PM. Even GCT did not go to such extend.

Frankly, LHL ran out of ideas, so he just went for the 'easy' solution to open the floodgates so as to artificially boost the economy and GDP but we all know that this is not sustainable.
