Current queue status at Parliament

i woke up at 5am and plan to go down

but after i saw the updates that estimated waiting time is still 8hrs

i really shocked sia

i think we are really witnessing history

Scenario is as such. Took a taxi and I started Q at 0348 hrs from the cenotaph. Before 0500, I reached the Padang holding area. No idea how long it will take to clear the Padang.

Once public transport starts 0600 hrs, another wave of people will come. After 0830 hrs, another wave of company and school groups will come in. For today until tmr, the crowds will swell beyond what u see now simply because it's the weekend. If u don't come down now and wait for eight hours, the situation is only going to get worse, i. e. Q times will get longer

Went at last night 2250..finished at 0440..nearly 6hrs..the Padang queue is crazily long..the organization there is not good I must say..they have many parallel queues yet only one exit point to start the proper walk along the road to Parliament House..and they release one queue at a time..but will b very chaotic as some queues longer than others hen ppl ask y they go first when we supposed to go..blah blah..

Once out of that area..is smooth le..

The Q system in the Padang holds groups by blocks. This is done so that u can rest in each block for a few hours, go toilet, take a drink or eat. Imagine if you do not have this system and then u have to move continuously, cannot sit down, can't go toilet etc.

This is the best system, given the circumstances.

Just one queue - the Padang.

Different entry points - City Hall/Raffles City and just behind Singapore Recreation Club.

The latter seems to be faster as one would have skipped the Cenotaph stretch.....

At 6am, still many queue joiners entering at the SRC side walking from Connaught Drive and Esplanade MRT exit (Padang side)....

We joined the queue from City Hall MRT at 10.50pm. Left Parliament at 5pm.

About 6 hours.

Yeah you'll be in blocks (they call it tents). Once you're in the tents, can just wait to be moved further in - across the traffic lights. Have to wait for an hour more or so before the scanners.

At the tentage area, can just let them know you want to use the portaloos.

dunno leh..the tent system is good to prevent overflowing of ppl at the parliament house...but then the sequence of releasing ppl from the holding area (tents) might need to be clearer..cos ppl are always kept in the dark as to when they supposed to move off..at least for my tent that is...can't hear what they saying..haha
