Went to PA HQ, saw people from all walks of life. Scout and girl guide masters (is that what they are called?) in uniform, some mothers carrying their kids with bouquets of white flowers in hand, xiaobeng xiaobitch mixed in with studious looking ginnas wearing school uniforms, working adults still wearing their office lanyards, aunties carrying their 菜篮, retired folks supported by PA volunteers.

There's a quiet beauty amidst this sombre affair.
I agree. At 3am just now I was there waiting at padang for the past 4 hours. Everyone was very tired.

One of the in-charge came to explain why we have to wait so long at the padang area and wish for our understanding. Everyone, even though is tired and restless, applaud to him and understand him.

Not only that, my phone had no battery after awhile and the person besides me offers to lend me her portable battery and wire.

It's heart warming to me.

here my timings reaching different parts of the queue line to the parliament house TODAY. i went in padang at 1:15pm and left the parliament house at 5:40pm.
it was sunny with some wind.
for those who are in the line or going now or later in the night can roughly use the timings to gauge your wait time especially AFTER they release u from the padang holding area.

1:15pm strolled into padang field. ppl were passing out umbrellas n giving out tissues, drinks (mineral water, yeos, liang teh, breadtalk giving breads n cakes), plastic fans.
1:20 being placed in blocks of tentages and sat down to relax in holding area. reminded constantly not to cluster together.
1:50 exit padang holding area to esplanade
2:00 where the real queue begins, all e way snaking to opposite MS/mandarin(float).
along the way plenty of ppl giving out drinks, food, umbrellas and ponchos.
2:15 small holding point at float stand. sheltered.
2:16 released to cont walking.
2:35 walk stop walk stop..... the difficult part is here because of the sun.
3:30 walk stop walk stop opposite victoria memorial hall.
3:45 NS major briefed that there would be a holding point just before the tunnel under bridge to prevent suffocation there. and it would take less than 1.5hr to reach the parliament hse from here.
4:05 reach white tentage (pen n card issued. end of it are the xray machines. before this the stretch, there were bangalas hanging up lights lined on rope. kudos to them so wont be too dark for the night people.
4:30 entered gate of parliament house
4:50 still waiting in the house..left lane move much faster, right lane jam. why is for u to ownself go find out...
5:40 left the house. took me 50min queueing on the right lane on the house. if left lane, it would be much much much faster. but..

please help to thank the volunteers and nsf here! they are awesome!!
