I started at the queue from 10pm. At about 4.30am, after they released about 2/3 of the ppl from padang, they stopped the last 1/3, asking us to stay in the block and wait for another 4 to 5 hours. The ppl here are generally calm and cooperative. Disappointed faces yes, but everyone is still patient.

I wear shorts and slipper, not because I wanted to, but it was a last minute thing when my sister say she is going while I was at work. Yes, I work in that attire, so no time to change, I asked for time off work and hurry down.

Nobody said anything. I guess people from all walks of life are coming here, doesn't matter what you wear as long as you have the 'xin'.
Of course, try to wear as proper as you can but the weather is gonna be a factor too.

I gave up waiting at City Hall junction and came back to my office. 4+ am and don't even know got chance to join the queue or not. I figured by the time I reach PH also probably afternoon liao and still gotta work. Later when day breaks, the heat will be a real killer.

As I made my way back, I was amazed by the number of people that has since gathered and standing there waiting quietly, including a number of senior folks. It reminded me of 15 years ago, Year 2000 countdown where half a million people gathered at downtown area, only this time there's little movement and more sobriety, in a sea of very Singaporean faces standing and patiently awaiting.

I wish all the best for those who are still waiting there to be able to join in the queue and see Mr Lee for the last time, especially our older folks.
