First time builder with a budget of $2000~$2300 for mostly gaming and some audio and video editing, want to play current gen games at 1080p, 60fps+, Ultra.

This is my build list.

CPU: Intel Core i5-6600K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor ($249.99 @ Amazon)
CPU Cooler: NZXT Kraken X31 69.5 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler ($73.99 @ Amazon)
Motherboard: Asus Z170-A ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($154.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport LT 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($89.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Crucial BX200 240GB 2.5" Solid State Drive ($64.99 @ Amazon)
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($49.99 @ Amazon)
Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 4GB Superclocked ACX 2.0 Video Card ($319.99 @ Amazon)
Case: NZXT H440 (Glossy White/Black) ATX Mid Tower Case ($116.99 @ Amazon)
Power Supply: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($78.10 @ Amazon)
Total: $1199.02

Prices are in USD.

As a first time builder, these parts that i chose are based on what i think i need and what i want my PC to look like [Mostly White], not base on performance to price factor, as i am not really sure on how to chose performance wise.

After looking through some SLS store catalogs, i realized that the prices on amazon and newegg are far better than SLS, i read somewhere that when buying at SLS you are supposed to haggle, but i am not good at haggling and would like to buy at reasonable and fixed prices.

I would need some help in looking at my build and getting the best parts and prices.

If you get everything from Amazon it will indeed be cheaper. However, warranty will be an issue the next time you have an issue with any of the parts. Some of the parts you can go to Sim Lim. No need to haggle. Just go to PC themes and they will discount slightly for you.

note that theres no direct shipping for motherboard from amazon
and i think tradepac is selling the same mobo+cpu for 617,if they don't chut pattern, savings is like only $20 or even less(based on 65daigou shipping price) for buying from amazon

shipping cost is also needed for tower cause oversized/overweight

i feel buying the rest from amazon is fine
for some who nitpick rough package handling, can buy hdd locally also

IMO if you know how to haggle, you wont save too much buying from overseas instead.
Also, not all parts worth buying overseas.

Tower, mobo, cpu, gpu.
Basicly the more expensive and bulky stuff. You want to be covered with warranty. Consider HDD buy locally also, quite easy to get damaged if shipping is rough.

Also, buy from overseas means need to wait, instead of paying slightly more and go down simlim gaodim everything in one shot, + Completely covered with warranty.
My experience with tradepac is, they usually honor 7-day lemon 1-to-1 exchange. They may seem reluctant but if they test and really have issue, they will not argue with you, so they aren't really that bad.

actually i bought mobo from amazon recently and checked newegg also..shipping cost like usd20-30+ to SG
you probably saw US local shipping

anyway just a heads up,
http://forums.hardwarezone.com.sg/h...-online-newegg-product-asrock-us-5282898.html

just to add on, for first timer, not sure if you know potential problem like bent pin in motherboard.
once there is any bent pin and cpu can't get in contact properly, nothing will work. so its best to get motherboard locally especially yours is a more expensive one
