Like poster above said, PCThemes in SLS. It’s by far the most newb-friendly shop there though if you really want to save money, TradePac but don’t go there lest you’ve done your research and you know exactly what you want.

If you are in no rush, hunt from lazada/qoo10/primenow/carousell/shopee. Definitely way cheaper.

If you are in a rush..sls then. Do compare the cost from buying online + promo code. If not confirm get chop carrot

it depends on your requirement. building it yourself is cheaper compare to boutiques. you have to source the parts yourself which is more ma fan as u need to compare price.

the warranty/service for repair for DIY PC is more ma fan as you have to do it yourself/troubleshoot yourself. boutiques would provide better service for repairs/warranty.

and build yourself can have your own preference, sometimes boutiques build may not be what you want

Not trying to advertise here or what but i’ve been going back to PCtheme for many years already, infact my very first rig was built with the help from a hardware fourm member that brought me there after getting the recommended build here!

One thing i think everybody here can agree with is they’re quite user friendly in terms of customer service, they are also quite professional, tell them your requirements and your budget and they would recommend you the best product, Straight forward no dilly dally.

Price wise you definitely can find cheaper if you wanna build it yourself part by part. But for me even though i know abit about IT, i’ll still leave it to the professionals.

Now I saw many shops price list states some components like CPU+Mobo, or Graphic card, or RAM as "price only for PC bundle", so if we just buy the particular parts (e.g GPU), how much needs to top up? Is it a norm to every shop there now?

I still see many people at tradepac.

PCthemes not the cheapest but I do see friendly staff.

Dynacore can fight with tradepac. But not for newbies.

They see your face one. They like your face then you pay the price on the list, if not then +$15, or that was the charge 5 years ago.

You all should learn to buy outside SLS. Once the collective sale go thru (maybe this year or next), every shop owner would become millionaire overnight. They won't be interested to setup shop again. All can go early retirement. Even if they do, likely they'll go E-commerce.

Dynacore got a few hidden antics, best not recommended for newbies. PCT is still the go-to shop for newbies.

I like dynacore. They work efficiently. If you know what you want and u are buying then they are very helpful. If you go in ask ask and unsure what to get then they can be quite unfriendly.

price wise at most save 30-40 dollars if compare dynacore vs pc themes

but thats looking at a 1k rig ish.

Personally ill recommend thinking up a price/parts list. Having a plan A or Plan b for each part just in case the shop does not have it in stock. Go there and ask both shops to quote. Building fee and all.

If you want advice can pm me I can give you some pointers here and there.

thinking of buying cpu+mobo+ram (i5 9600k with aorus pro wifi + 8gb corsair 3000mhz)
from what i see, the price savings are not significant, even if i breakdown my amazon shipments to save on gst. it seems more worthwhile to buy from local and have the additional warranty.

or am i missing something somewhere

Depends on how much of an enthusiast you are lor. For me, I just headed to PC Themes. For parts they don't stock, I went with their alternative recommendations.

Yilong was especially helpful. They did not carry the case I wanted but he bothered to look for it and bring it over from other shops.

Is that why so many shops emtpy they dont bother also?
